It has nothing to do with homosexuality. Sure, there are certainly some gay men in prison (with the same ratio in there as in the rest of society), but heterosexual men have sex with each other because they want sex. It is also a power thing…a man in prison who takes sex from another man will have power over them. If these men leave prison and re-enter society, they go back to living a normal, hetereosexual lifestyle.

There might be some that are gay. But there is some that are gay. The ones that are not gay they just want to have sex with each other. The gay ones will force you to have sex with them. There are gang members in there too. They like to have sex too.

well they are in jail away from people that they actually care about. and after being in jail for long periods of time i guess they just are craving sex so bad that they care not whit whome it is with they just want it.

ain’t sure but it might be they got a lot of time to kill and not much else to do. those places aren’t gifted with a lot of ladies and the ones that are there look like bulldogs. and its probably better than doing it with the hole in the wall. what is this stupid question day

This is called “situational homosexuality”.
People are sexual beings, and when deprived of the ability to express themselves sexually in the way they are accustomed to, they will find another way. It’s human nature.
Masturbation is common in jail as is sex between inmates.
It happens far less than people think though. Just because someone goes to jail, doesn’t mean they are going to be forced into gay sex. It happens, but not to everyone.

One obvious reason is that men and women are separated from each other in prison, and they wouldn’t be allowed to spend private time with each other anyway. So except for conjugal visits between inmates and their outside partners, there is no sex allowed at all. That’s not to say that it doesn’t go on, but it’s not permitted. So if there are all men in one cell block, for instance, things happen secretly, and the same with a women’s cell block.
